Dear Marshall Elementary School Community,
I am writing to inform you of the voluntary departure of Yvonne Munguia, the principal of Marshall Elementary School, effective February 12, 2024. After 2 years of dedicated service to our school community, Ms. Munguia has decided to pursue new opportunities within the San Diego Unified School District.
During Ms. Munguia’s tenure at Marshall Elementary, she has demonstrated exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and a steadfast commitment to the success and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and families. Her vision, passion, and tireless efforts have played a significant role in shaping the positive and inclusive learning environment that is helping define Marshall Elementary School.
As we bid farewell to Principal Munguia, I want to express my deepest gratitude for her outstanding contributions, leadership, and service to our school community. Her impact and legacy will be remembered by all who have had the privilege of working alongside her.
In the interim, we will be working diligently to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of leadership at Marshall Elementary School. Ms. Mikulanis a retired SDUSD Administrator has agreed to step in to lead, with the support of Associate Principal Mwereru. Rest assured, we are fully committed to supporting the faculty, staff, students, and families during this period of transition and beyond.
We will soon begin the process of selecting a new principal for Marshall Elementary School. As part of this process, we value and welcome input from the entire school community. Your feedback and insights will be instrumental in identifying the qualities, skills, and attributes desired in our next school leader.
